Zhiwei Zou, Ph.D.

Patent Agent

Zhiwei Zou is a patent agent at Pearne & Gordon LLP.  He focuses on preparing and prosecuting domestic and foreign patent applications in the electrical, mechanical, and computer software fields.

Prior to joining Pearne & Gordon, Zhiwei worked as a research assistant and earned his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering in the MicroSystem and BioMEMS Laboratory at the University of Cincinnati, where he developed various integrated and miniaturized sensing systems using semiconductor micro/nano fabrication and polymer micromachining technologies for environmental and medical applications.  In addition, Zhiwei was a research assistant in the Institute of Communication Technology at Nanjing University in China.  Zhiwei has gained extensive research experience in semiconductor, medical device, micro-electromechanics, and telecommunications and networking, and published more than 10 peer-reviewed journal articles.

In addition to his native Chinese, Zhiwei speaks fluent English.

Zhiwei is currently a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers and Sigma Xi, the Scientific Research Society.
