Marla L. Mellino

Marla Mellino  is an associate at Pearne & Gordon LLP.  She has experience in preparing and prosecuting patent applications, as well as in performing legal research in the chemical and pharmaceutical arts.  Marla also provides other legal support, including drafting and research support for validity and infringement opinions.

Prior to entering the legal field, Marla was both a chemist with the Sherwin-Williams Company and a technical sales specialist with Q-Lab Corporation.  As a chemist, Marla was responsible for formulating new coatings and performing analyses on coatings to determine the root causes of undesirable performance effects.  As a technical sales specialist, she was responsible for working with clients to determine their accelerated weathering testing needs, running joint research projects with companies to develop novel weathering testing methods, and delivering technical presentations and training sessions across the United States and Canada.

Marla is a member of the Cleveland Intellectual Property Law Association (CIPLA), the American Intellectual Property Law Association (AIPLA), and the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association.
